My opinion of the unexplored Flight Paths
It's not just the Hero's Call board, either. Whenever you get a quest that takes you to another part of a zone or continent, the flight path is automatically added. I noticed this while leveling my mage in Outlands. I got the quest from Thrallmar to the belf tower in HP, and immediately got the flight path for it, which I didn't have before. The wow game time card can help you.Me, I'm cool with the change. Really hated when I got a quest to go from one zone to another, and had to ride the whole way there, going out of my way to dodge mobs because I just wanted to get to the next quest hub. But I can certainly see where some people would dislike the change. Me, I just want to get to the next hub and continue questing.
This was always that way in northend in my experience, at least for the key quest hubs. In other zones, looks like an fp gets unlocked if you take out a quest that has you go there.
I've a toon that's levelled almost exclusively in western kingdom and now has a lot of fp because of that, but has very few fp in kalimdor. And she doesn't have all fp in eastern kingdoms, gaping holes in places where she's never quested. And fp do start showing up for another toon I'm leveling in Kalimdor as she progresses through the quest chains there, just in advance of being sent to those areas (but again not all spots, only those she needs to visit for quests). You need wow game card.
Rather like what's always (affair) been the case with the starter quests, where you get sent on a flight to your nation's capital despite never having been there. You used the World of Warcraft Key to log in. It’s easy.
Does cut down seriously on the running and later riding around over long distances looking for a pass over some mountain ridge? But yes, was fun exploring the low level zones at least on a ground mount, when you didn't get gawked by hordie guards trying to answer the hero's call in northern barrens when the only obvious way to get there was right through their camp on the border with Ashenvale (there's detours, but new players are unlikely to find those before giving up in frustration or just walking the gauntlet and getting killed at that hostile crossing 5-6 times, getting a few steps further every time).
Not to derail the topic. But I honestly think this is one of the reasons players are finally leaving wow. Things are just so efficient´ right now, that we can complete content so quickly that there is just lots of boredom. 120 quests in Hyjal take under 2 hours to complete because of flightpaths and quest setups, 30 quests in Barrens used to take 5 hours. While mindless travel is terrible, there is actually some adventure´ that can be found in it too. WOW has taken away too much of the adventure and replaced it with a list.
